The runner stone is split (or maybe it's a bedstone), the windshaft is broken into two, the great spur wheel has almost been burnt completely, the vertical shaft is burned in its lower part and is leaning against the wall, more than half of the wallower is missing, what is left from the tailpole is only three holes, the stonecrane has miraculously survived. The hoppers shouldn’t be even mentioned. This is the fate of the mill in Popasnoye. However, it’s still there, unlike hundreds of its “brothers and sisters”. Even a few cams of the brake wheel have survived. Will anyone take care of it? Most unlikely... Although the fields around the mill are sown, and there are tractors moving around it. Yes, and in the village they immediately told us how to get to the mill. By the way, when you drive up, do not turn left into the village, just go straight along the road till you see the mill to your right.

The mill has preserved the vertical/upright shaft. And it’s the only mill like this among the abandoned mills of Voronezh region. It also has preserved a mysterious wheel near the roof. The same wheel can be found in the mill in Lomi. The purpose of these wheels is not obvious, but it is possible that they put the rope, which moves the beam, through them, i.e. the brake unit, which in turn pressed the brake to the brake wheel. Thanks to the sheave, it was possible to raise and lower the beam from the lower floors. This is a guess only, though.

Vertical sticks are seen inside and outside the log construction. These are the attempts to strengthen the construction.
