The windmill from the village of Vishnevyi (Klimovskiy district, Bryanskaya oblast) was built around the end of 19th century or in 1931 year, is located on a historical site. Smock mill with an unknown number of sails and two pairs of millstones. Sheathed Frame. Unique details: millstones are located under great spur wheel of the vertical shaft. Was used as a flour mill (flour).
|Condition||The windmill is falling into ruin and may disappear|
|Status||In noone's possession, not used|
|Mechanism||Not restored, is going to ruin|
The following historical parts of the mechanism have been preserved:
Windshaft, Brake wheel, Upright shaft, Wallower, Great spur wheel.
Probably this windmill with windmill from Zhastkovo village (in poor condition) are the only two historical windmills in Russia with very different mechanism design. Spindle is going downward from great spur wheel (instead of upward in general). Millstones are on the first floor instead of the second floor. There are a variety of such windmills in Belarus and Ukraine. We are in the process of learning.
Photos are here, here (built in 1931), here (build in the end of 19th century) and here.
A mill with such a special design must not fall!
