The windmill from the village of Zhastkovo (Surazhsky district, Bryansk region) is located on a historical site. The time of construction is unknown. Smock mill with four sails and unknown number of millstones. Sheathed Frame. Was used as a flour mill (flour).
|Condition||The windmill is in ruins and is collapsing|
|Status||In noone's possession, not used|
|Mechanism||Not restored, is going to ruin|
The following historical parts of the mechanism have been preserved:
Windshaft, Brake wheel, Upright shaft, Great spur wheel.
At the beginning of 2017, we assumed that the mill probably no longer exists; we had only two photographs from 2013: here and here. Judging by them, the mill architecture is the same as of Belarusian smocks, the mill in Kazilovka and Arkaim.
However, when people returned to the mill in October 2017, what they saw was a completely ruined mill here. Wooden buildings do not last long like this. What a pity!
One more good report is here.
Report here claims that the windmill was demolished. It is possible that the windmill was collapsed, however in exact this report this information is incorrect.
